How do we begin?
We start with a belief — that functional objects can carry soul.
We seek creators with a vision, a sense of material, and a deep connection to cultural narrative.
How do we build?
Through close dialogue with artists and artisans, we develop unique prototypes — sometimes through collaboration, sometimes by representing their solo works.
Each piece blends concept and craft, shaped by hand, time, and intention.
How do we grow?
We exhibit worldwide, partner with collectors, and connect our artists to new audiences.
Every sale supports the ecosystem of contemporary Chinese craft.
Curator‘s Story
A Journey to Find What Was Almost Lost
From ancient streets to a future vision.
I was born in Xi’an, one of China’s oldest cities. As a child, I would often see craftsmen working right on the street—carving stone, shaping wood, painting by hand. Their quiet dedication stayed with me.
But as China raced forward, much of that artistry disappeared. In its place: mass-produced things—cheap, replaceable, forgettable. Still, I always believed Chinese creators were capable of more: of work with soul, intelligence, and quiet power.
Over the past 20 years, I’ve seen this belief come true.
Across China, artists and designers are creating remarkable pieces—rooted in tradition, shaped by thought, and crafted with care.
I’ve traveled to find them—across cities, towns, and studios. I talk with them, listen, and build something greater together: a shared belief in what Chinese artistry can be.
SOTACA is my way of rewriting the story.
Not just for the world to see, but for Chinese creators to be seen—truly.
