Description
This wide-mouthed, conical vessel by Du Yuan is both sculpture and container—echoing the ancient function of clay and the meditative nature of space. Its raw, eroded surface suggests geological time, while the dramatic inward taper draws the eye downward, evoking weight and stillness.
Wood-fired in a natural atmosphere kiln, each piece bears unpredictable traces of ash and flame, resulting in organic textures that cannot be repeated. The interior is naturally darkened, making it ideal for use as a dry flower vessel, or simply as a sculptural statement on its own.
Best placed on open surfaces—stone ledges, plinths, or long consoles—where it can breathe. Pairs beautifully with dried botanicals, or stands quietly empty. Complements natural plaster walls, warm concrete, and textured wood tones.
Care Note: This piece has an unglazed, porous surface and is not suitable for holding water. Dust gently with a soft cloth.
This design is made to order. Each sculpture is built individually by hand, resulting in unique details and natural variation. Available for worldwide shipping.
