Description
This vessel by Du Yuan reflects her signature language of elemental stillness and hand-built imperfection. Balanced on a rooted point, its weight gathers toward the base—evoking ancient seed forms or mountain silhouettes seen in dream. The irregular mouth, soft sheen, and textured surface all emerge from quiet dialogue with fire and earth.
Fired in a wood kiln and shaped by hand without molds, the vessel carries the traces of time—pinched, scorched, and smoothed in rhythm. Though resolutely sculptural, it remains open for use: a vessel not to contain, but to invite.
SOTACA Pairing Note
Ideal for contemplative interiors, especially where light and silence meet. Display on a stone plinth, low wooden platform, or alcove niche. Pairs well with matte textures, raw linen, or simply the emptiness of air.
This design is made to order. Each sculpture is built individually by hand, resulting in unique details and natural variation. Available for worldwide shipping.
